In conjunction with Stockholm Design Week, we opened the doors of our Stockholm showroom and HQ to international audience and presented the launches of two new products: The Vienna Throw by Arthur Arbesser and the Alphabeta Floor Lamp by Luca Nichetto.

“I am delighted to introduce these two new works during Stockholm Design Week, one of the world’s most recognized celebrations of Scandinavian design,” said Hem’s Founder and CEO Petrus Palmer. “With new launches we continue our commitment to democratize the quality design by working with world’s leading creatives, who come up with accessible design solutions.”

Following the success of the iconic Alphabeta Pendant Lamp, Luca Nichetto was invited by Hem to create a reimagined version of the piece - Alphabeta Floor Lamp. “When designing Alphabeta Lamp, I wanted to create a system, in which you can combine shades to create your very own lamp. I wanted to allow the users to create their customized lamps by combining different pieces - like letters in the alphabet, ” explained Nichetto. That said, Alphabeta Floor Lamp comes with eight different shades and six colorways, offering a staggering number of 1,024 configuration options.

“You naturally become attached in an emotional way to the place you come from, so there’s no surprise that Vienna is very present in my works,” described Arthur Arbesser his fourth textile design he created for Hem. “The Vienna Throws reflect my fascination with the city and its modernist history: geometric, rigorous patterns are designed in deliberately chosen color compositions” Made of 100% thick New Zealand wool, the throws are available in a dark deep-sea green and black, a contrasty cream and black, and a colorful tangerine and pastel-pink.
